Funktion were commissioned to animate the route of the 25km tunnel under London’s river that will prevent the tens of millions of tonnes of sewage that currently pollute the River Thames every year. First we used tracking software to create a 3D camera from the live action helicopter shot. This was followed by accurately plotting and visualising in 3D the full route of tunnel along the Thames. The 23 individual drilling and pumping site locations were then animated and composited back over the live action.
